ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — After a cloudy day with very spotty rain shower activity, the evening will be much of the same! The clouds stick around tonight as temperatures during the overnight will drop into the upper 30s in the Southern Tier and around 40° in the city.

Some scattered rain showers will develop tonight as a cold front moves through the area and the majority of those showers will be for areas south of the Thruway including Geneseo, Penn Yan, Bloomfield and Gorham.

For Saturday, we will start off the day with clouds and the chance for some rain showers early in the day. The sky will gradually clear as we head into the afternoon and we'll bring back the sunshine. Temperatures will be a bit cooler and closer to the seasonal average with daytime highs only in the low 40s.

For Sunday, it will be even nicer with temperatures headed into the low 50s and a mostly sunny day across the region. Both days will be excellent to put up any holiday decorations you have or mow the lawn one more time!

Next week is shaping up to be very interesting. There is a massive low-pressure system headed our way that will bring a soaking rain on Monday for the entire region and then colder air will be right behind that as temperatures will drop below our seasonal averages as we charge into the month of December.
