ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The chilly air producing the lake effect snow showers will slowly move out to end the week. Lake flakes will taper this evening, and the sky clears nicely overnight.
That will set the stage for a much nicer, but still breezy Friday. We'll start chilly, with temperatures in the lower 30s, but should climb nicely into the mid-50s by the afternoon, which is much closer to the average high of 59 degrees. Winds will gust 30 to 35 mph at times on Friday, but at least the sun will take the bite off of that wind.
The weekend: Saturday looks very nice, with sunshine to start and clouds thickening up by afternoon. Temperatures will make their way back into the lower 40s. The daylight hours will be dry, but rain showers will arrive after sunset on Saturday, and linger into Sunday morning. Sunday won't be a washout, with showers tapering and a mostly dry, but breezy afternoon.
Warming next week: The work week starts off cool with highs near 50, but a good deal of sun and dry weather. Then, it is all up from there! Tuesday will shoot into the upper 60s, mid-70s on Wednesday, and mid to upper 70s on Thursday. Our next chance of rain after the weekend won't come until later Thursday next week.
