ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Thursday was just about as picture-perfect as you can get, with low humidity, mild temperatures, and an abundance of sunshine. Mother Nature helped us out this morning, giving us a mainly clear sky (aside from some high clouds) for viewing of the partial solar eclipse.

We'll remain clear tonight, with temperatures dropping into the 50s for lows Friday morning. Friday starts off sunny, but we'll see some more afternoon clouds, with a few showers popping, mainly south of Rochester during the afternoon. Humidity will increase just a little bit but should remain fairly comfortable.

The weekend: Saturday will be the drier of the two weekend days, with a passing shower or two, along with a mostly cloudy sky and temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80. Sunday will feature a better chance for some showers or thunder, as a weak cold front passes through. Highs on Sunday will once again reach the upper 70s to near 80. The weekend will be far from a washout, but you'll have to plan your outdoor activities around those showers on Sunday.

The week ahead: A stubborn boundary finally pushes south on Monday, with a slight chance of a shower or two, followed by cooler and drier weather through much of the rest of the week. In fact, highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will hold in the lower 70s, and may not make it out of the 60s on Wednesday. Still, very comfortable air with some sun.

We'll warm things up a bit later next week, but the overall pattern should lead to slightly below average temperatures into the 2nd and 3rd weeks of June.
