ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The good news: We will end the week on a high note, with plenty of sunshine for Friday.
The bad news: we see our rain chances going up a bit this weekend.
High pressure remains in control Thursday night and into Friday, with a mainly clear sky and seasonable temperatures in the lower 60s Friday morning, and lower to mid-80s Friday afternoon.
Then, some moisture from the Mid-Atlantic will slowly start to creep northward on Saturday.
There may be enough moisture to pop a shower or two Saturday afternoon. That being said, most of Saturday is expected to be dry.
The bigger question regarding rain is still on Sunday. One medium-range forecast model brings an off and on rain on Sunday, which would put a huge damper on any outdoor plans.
Another forecast model insists on the majority of the rain holding off until Monday with a cold front.
Bottom line: expect a little rain on Sunday, especially later in the day, but we do not expect the day to be a washout. But definitely stay tuned to more specifics on the rain timing over the next day or so.
After that, we'll get another little hint of Fall weather, with highs in the mid-70s Tuesday through Thursday, before climbing again later next week and weekend.
