ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Yellow Alert is up for some accumulating snow on Wednesday. Snow will move in Tuesday night, with an inch or two of accumulation by Wednesday morning.
The snow will be falling during the Wednesday morning commute and may slow you down just a little bit. Snow will continue through the morning, and begin to taper into the afternoon. If this were a January event, we would be plowing. But, the strong April sun will help to dramatically reduce any accumulating snow, especially on pavement.
So, while it may still be snowing during the afternoon/evening commute, the impact should be minimal. That being said, we'll likely pick up another inch or two of sloppy snow during the day Wednesday. In total, most will see a 1-3" accumulation of heavy, wet snow. But, the higher terrain, including the Bristol Hills and western Southern Tier may see a little more.
We'll continue to monitor the latest trends and continue to make updates to this challenging forecast late-season snowfall forecast.
