ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Friday will start off dry with a little bit of sun, but some showers will develop by lunchtime, and perhaps a few isolated storms by late afternoon/evening.
These aren't expected to be strong to severe, but the threat for some stronger storms may be going up as the sun goes down on Friday. A cluster of severe storms moving through the Midwest tonight will weaken and fade by morning, but it is this area that we'll be watching for some redevelopment Friday evening and overnight. Forecast confidence isn't high with this type of setup, but if you plan on being outdoors tomorrow evening and night, you'll want to pay attention to the forecast, and keep our First Alert Weather app and radar handy, as the potential for some stormy weather may move in.
Some of these storms may linger into early Saturday morning, before a drying trend later in the day.
A Yellow Alert is issued as a heads up for the potential for some strong to severe storms. This will be a changing forecast, so get the latest with meteorologist Rich Caniglia Friday morning, and stick with News10NBC through the day as we iron out details and watch the development of the potentially stormy weather.
