Isaiah Hodgins Looks To Build Off Strong Showing In Preseason Opener

ORCHARD PARK, NY (WHEC) – It’s more than likely the Bills will trot out Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, and Isaiah McKenzie as their starting Wide Receivers this season. However, none of them played in the Buffalo’s 27-24 preseason opening win over the Colts on Saturday. It gave way to someone who’d been sidelined for most of his first two seasons with the team: Isaiah Hodgins.

“His teammates love him and great to see him work himself back in a position to make those plays,” head coach Sean McDermott said. “For him to make those plays and come through for us was was outstanding.”

A 2020 6th rounder, Hodgins caught nine of eleven passes for 77 yards after his status for the game was questionable earlier in the week.

“I feel like I just try to take it day by day and just go out there and have fun with my teammates and just focus,” Hodgins said. “I don’t I don’t try to look at, you know, the camp battles and who’s making a team who’s not.”

Hodgins missed all of 2020 with a shoulder injury before making his NFL debut last season against the Patriots in Week 16. He’ll be looking to remain on the roster after the first round of roster cuts, which come on Tuesday.
