Schroeder flag football wins NYS, Class B Crown

Webster Schroeder Flag Football celebrates its Section V Championship
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Flag football has been a varsity sport for only a few years, but it has already made a mark in Section Five. Last season, the first New York State Public High School Athletic Association Flag Football Championship was held, with Bishop Kearney taking the title. Now, another team has joined the ranks of champions.
Webster Schroeder capped off a 16-1 season with a 20-14 victory over Tappan Zee at Cortland High School in the NYSPHSAA, Class B Championship.
Scholar Athlete of the Week Emma Rascoe threw for two touchdowns, while Addie Morgan added a pick-six. Tappan Zee had a chance to tie the game late, but Morgan secured the win with her third interception of the game.
The Warriors now stand at the top of the Class B world.
