FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) – Ari Reback is a Fairport junior who is starting to look toward her future.

“When I was in anatomy and physiology last year. And it really helped me like running form wise to like understand like this muscle does this. So I have to use this muscle to like, get stronger. Like, when I stride,” said Reback.

There are reciprical benefits to sport Ari Reback plays and what she enjoys studying. It’s allowed her to grow in both areas. So much so, they she won sectionals.

“Fairport hasn’t had an individual winter on the girls in 20 years, which was yeah, the last girl was actually on my now assistant coach,” said Reback.

She laced up for the first time in 7th grade. Since then, it’s been one foot in front of the other a lot.

“Over the summer. I would get up at like probably close to 7 a.m. when I’m supposed to be on break and go run like eight miles and I think a lot of that has kind of transferred over the school,” said Reback.

She’s a straight A student with aspirations to go into medicine. Though it’s a little early to say where that would be, the hope is to stay in the state.

Congrats to Fairport High’s Ari Reback on being this week’s News 10 NBC Scholar Athlete of the Week.
