Amerks fall to 1st place Comets

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Americans fell, 4-2, to the Utica Comets on Friday evening. The loss snaps a four-game point streak for Seth Appert’s squad.

Brett Murray and Patrick Polino both scored for Rochester, who couldn’t manage one goal on six power-play chances. Utica was 1-5. They also outshot Rochester, 30-28.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen turned away 26 of 29 shots but dropped to (7-7-1) with the loss.

The Amerks turn their attention to Syracuse, where they’ll wrap up a season-long five-game road trip on Saturday.
