ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — He was named the Head Coach of the Amerks last week and Tuesday Seth Appert was in Rochester for the annual Amerks Alumni Golf Tournament.

When he was named the head coach it was described that he would have a focus on development.

Tuesday he wanted to put Amerks fans at ease to ensure them that there would be a focus on winning in Rochester.

"We are still going to sign veterans, we're talking through those processes right now, we want the right veterans, we want veterans that are going to help the culture and show us how to win," Appert said. "Not necessarily veterans who are just going to score points and block the development of the young players."

Rob Ray also talked to News10NBC about the future of the team. Watch the video in the player below to see what he said.

Proceeds from the Amerks alumni golf tournament benefited a number of local charities including OASIS Adaptive Sports, Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network, the Veterans Outreach Center as well as the Thomas M. Nichols Scholarship Fund.
