Bills break team points record with win over Chiefs

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — It’s only five games but it’s still difficult not to marvel at what the Bills have done over the first quarter plus of the season.
After Sunday night into Monday morning’s 38-20 win over the Chiefs, the offense just reached new heights.
The Bills have wracked up 127 points so far, the most over in the first five games of any season in team history and in seven of the previous eight games dating back to last season, Buffalo has scored 35 points or more. They join the 2012 Broncos as the only other team in NFL history to do that.
Sunday night, Brian Daboll’s unit came in tied with the Chiefs for the second best offense in the league. Now, they’re number one.
Josh Allen and Dawson Knox showcased a little bit of a bromance in a post-game press conference a few weeks back and they gushed about the other’s ability, so it only makes sense the two connecting well on the field. With his team-high 117 receiving yards in the win, Knox also caught his fifth touchdown of the season and at least one in each of the past four games. The 24-year-old not only leads the league in touchdowns by a tight end, he’s tied for second among anyone.
Sean McDermott touched on what has allowed Knox and his QB to link up so well.
"They’ve known each other now for a few years, right, and they’ve worked together, I think just time on task," McDermott said. "Dawson’s playing very competent football right now which is great to see and I think Rob Boras, his coach, and Dawson have a close relationship that has allowed Dawson to continue to grow."
The Bills’ next game is next Monday at 8:15 p.m. at Tennessee. It will be on ESPN.
