The question on everyone's mind Thursday night- who would be the starting quarterback for the regular season? It was part of why they were getting a glimpse Thursday of how the Bills will perform this year.
Yes, the start of the football season was underway for Buffalo Bills' fans. It was hopeful… and slightly superstitious.
"I got my lucky shorts on," said Bills' fan Jonathan Bress.
Fans were teeming with excitement for the new season, and looking to see if quarterbacks like rookie Josh Allen can deliver.
“He’s got a cannon for an arm [and] can throw all over the field,” says fan Mike Greene, “I know the question is accuracy but if you build a player on Madden, he’s the type of QB you want to build.”
"We'll miss Tyrod Taylor but I think Josh Allen can come from behind and get the starting position,” says Bress, “But we'll see, we'll see."
Other fans like Oliver Numovski and Anna Beck agree he has potential, but hope he isn’t thrown right into the fire, for fear he could throw interceptions, as happened with Nathan Peterman last season.
Those five interceptions Peterman had last season against the Chargers are still haunting fans- but they're choosing to Bill-ieve.
"I think if you put him in a different game, in a different environment you can have success,” says Greene, “We can’t all look at him as the guy who threw three picks in one quarter, we can look at him as the guy who came in and won us a game."
Fans like Greene were out in force- getting a taste of what to expect this season- while hoping for a new era.
