BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) -- No. 32 hadn't been worn on the back of a Buffalo Bills football player since 1977. That's the last season O.J. Simpson wore the number as a running back for the team.

Now, that's about to change.

Running back Senorise Perry signed with the Bills as a free agent.

He told the publication, The Athletic, that he is wearing the number during the team's organized team activities.

The club didn't retire the number, but it had been unworn for the last 42 years according to the The Washington Times.

Simpson was acquitted in 1995 for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.

He was sentenced to prison in 2008 for armed robbery and kidnapping.

He was paroled in 2017.
