BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — Those who live in the targeted Buffalo neighborhood got a welcome surprise Wednesday when every single member of the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and Bandits team and coaching staff showed up.

They came to pay their respects and offer any help they could to the grieving community.

Wearing shirts that said "choose love," all the players and coaches paid their respects to the ten victims of the Tops shooting. Many placed bouquets of flowers at the memorial site for the victims and offered hugs and conversations with their family members.

"Being here physically, coming to the community and just being with our brothers and our sisters in a time of need is important to all of us, you feel this more; they feel this more than just simply writing a check," Bills General Manager Brandon Beane said.

"For everybody to be on board, coming down here knowing that it would be heavy, it would be tough," QB Josh Allen said. "That's the unfortunate circumstances of why we're here but kind of be in the community, give some hope, share some grief, that's how we're going to get past it and I'm super happy and glad for our team for being able to do that."

In addition to today's visit, a number of players are making donations to local charities that work to fight racism and white supremacy. They're also giving to groups that are helping the folks in that neighborhood get to other grocery stores for the supplies they need.
