BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) -- Phase one was OTAs is complete and now the Buffalo Bills are onto phase two.

The first day of mandatory minicamp was held Tuesday at Orchard Park, marking the official start to their final leg of offseason workouts.

In preparing for the season, the Bills have been hitting some obstacles.

Eight players sat out of Tuesday's practice due to injuries and several others were limited. However, despite those injury issues, Bills head coach Sean McDermott says he's pleased with the team's progress.

"I've been encouraged with the participation, the attitude, the work ethic," says Bills head coach Sean McDermott. "The guys are coming together. Certainly there's a challenge with the number of guys that we have out on the offensive side of the ball, trying to build the continuity and get guys acclimated to what we do.  Aside from that, I feel like we're in a good spot with a lot of work to do yet."

The most recent addition to the injury list is wide receiver Robert Foster who is out with a foot issue. Meanwhile, Bills center Mitch Morse continues to recover.
