Pedroia is the second multiple-time all-star to face the Red Wings in Rochester in the last 3 weeks, Jose Bautista was here back in April.

Pedroia knows that he's going to rejoin the Boston Red Sox when he's ready, but just seven months removed from knee surgery, he knows there's a process.

"You know, it takes a certain amount of time for my knee to heal and I got to that point so now it's time to start playing games, it's been fun to watch the guys, they've been playing great.  This is only my second game in AAA, it's fun, it's a little bit different, they have the pitch clock so a couple changes, but it's been good," said Pedroia. This isn't his first time in Rochester however, "It's been a while, I think I was here fourth of July, it's been a long time, I'm excited to play here and just keep building."
