BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC)— Erie County officials are still pushing for a vaccination requirement for fans who want to go to the stadium and watch the Buffalo Bills play this fall.

County Executive Mark Poloncarz told the Buffalo News his opinion hasn't changed when it comes to his desire to have all fans vaccinated if they want to go to games, however, Governor Cuomo's office is still pushing back, saying he has no authority to issue a mandate.

When New York lifted COVID restrictions earlier this week,  we learned larger venues like Highmark Stadium can open at 100% capacity, but masks are required for unvaccinated fans

Locally, the Rochester Red Wings announced it would be doing away with vaccinated and unvaccinated sections, and would no longer ask people for their vaccination status.

Poloncarz previously said the only way they would be able to achieve 100% capacity is if all staff and fans are fully vaccinated.
