FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) — If there's one thing we know about people who are stuck inside for a long time, it's that they get creative.

Recently international soccer stars like Lionel Messi have participated in the “Stay At Home Challenge”, it's when you film yourself juggling a roll of toilet paper like a soccer ball.

And that's when a virtual relay race through Fairport began as the Red Raiders soccer team delivered toilet paper to one of their teammates.

"It was an awesome way to get together virtually and connect us all through soccer," Jude Rouhana, a junior at Fairport said.

Jude gets a big assist from his teammates who juggle, back heel and even header the roll amongst each other... even their head coach.

"This is kind of a nice light-hearted connection with kids that shows that we can try to have fun during this challenging time," former Fairport soccer coach Gianni Bussani said.

It’s a good way to be together, despite social distancing.

"I'm a very social person, I like to see my friends at school," Jude said. "Not being able to do that has been tough on me."

Gianni Bussani recently retired as Fairport's varsity soccer coach, but he's still a teacher at the high school and classes have moved online.

"The most challenging thing to teaching on-line is you lose that personal connection with kids,” Bussani said. “that's what I look forward to when I go to work is connecting with kids in my classroom."

"I think a video like this can inspire some kids,” Jude said. “Even though we're apart it's maybe a hard time, you can find something to do to better yourself and make yourself happy."
