ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — As talks continue about a new Buffalo Bills Stadium in Western New York, Gov. Kathy Hochul said the results of the Bills stadium study will be released soon.

While in Rochester Wednesday, the governor was asked about the status of the ongoing Bills stadium study.

Hochul said she believes the results will be released in the next few weeks.

"We are waiting for the results of a study that’s been underway for a number of months now," Hochul said. "And I think that will come out in the next couple of weeks. We’re studying all the options – I’m thinking about this constantly, I’m talking to people behind the scenes just to get together information."

The governor also noted that the state is studying all of the options, but will ultimately "make the right decision for the people for Western New York."

The Bills’ lease on Highmark Stadium ends in July 2023.

Owners Terry and Kim Pegula said the projected cost of the new stadium they want is $1.4 billion. The Pegulas originally wanted the whole thing to be funded with taxpayer money, but later committed to paying for a portion of it.
