BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — "It’s all about respect" it’s a line repeated multiple times Monday night by Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde as he stepped down from the mic during his post-game media availability.

To set the stage: Both Hyde and fellow safety Jordan Poyer were asked by a reporter if they were "embarrassed" by the performance of the team’s run defense in Buffalo’s 14-10 loss to the New England Patriots in primetime. Buffalo gave up 222 yards on 46 carries in the loss, which also saw the Pats throw just three passes.

Both Hyde and Poyer initially asked "what kind of question is that?" and "what are we doing, bro?" The two followed by pointing to the final score, and the fact the defense gave up just one touchdown. The touchdown was on a 64 yard run by Patriot running back Damien Harris in the first quarter.

"We made stops when we had to, they had one big run, they got good backs," Poyer said. "They kept coming back to a couple of runs I mean, I don’t know how you want us to answer that question."

Hyde’s response was a little shorter.

"That’s funny," Hyde said. " We’ll remember that."

After taking a few more questions, Hyde then shared those few last words

"It’s all about respect," Hyde said. "I come here every single week and I answer your questions every single week, truthfully, honestly. i appreciate you guys, don’t do that."

The reporter followed up as Hyde walked away.

"In my day, players would answer that kind of question."

Hyde, Poyer, and the Bills (7-5) will travel to Tampa Bay to take on a familiar face in Buccaneers’ (and former Patriots) quarterback Tom Brady on Sunday. That game is set for 4:25 p.m. Buffalo now remains in second place in the AFC East.
