ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Jessica Pegula and Bethanie Mattek-Sands are playing in the second round of women’s doubles in the Tokyo Olympics.

News10NBC Sports Reporter Carly Mascitti caught up with Pegula before she headed to Japan and she talked about what it was like preparing for this moment, despite having other tournaments to play leading into the summer games.

“It’s hard to kind of wrap your head around when you still have to go play Wimbledon next week, which is another really cool thing I get to do too, so it was one of those things where I was kind of balancing emotions and excitement at the same time, but trying to focus on what was going on, what tournament I was playing in, what matches I had and stuff like that," Pegula said.
