JJ Peterka’s Overtime Goal For Amerks Evens Series At 1

UTICA, NY (WHEC) – JJ Peterka scored three of the final four goals for the Rochester Americans on Saturday night. The last one counted the most: an overtime score to lift the Amerks to a series-tying, 4-3 win over the Comets in Utica. The series now heads across the thruway to Rochester’s home ice.

Mark Jankowski opened the scoring 20 seconds in before Peterka carried the offense the rest of the night. The Sabres’ 2020 2nd rounder netted his first goal halfway through the opening period before doing the same in the 2nd. A Brian Flynn goal for Utica knotted things up at three-apiece before Peterka walked it off 1:29 into the extra period.

Aaron Dell stopped 16 of 19 shots on goal for Rochester, which out-shot Utica by ten.

Game three is Sunday at 5:05pm from Blue Cross Arena.
