The question coming into this week has been a familiar, who will be the starting quarterback?
With Josh Allen out with an elbow sprain the Bills turn to veteran Derek Anderson, who they just signed last Tuesday.
"It's football, things that happen in this game never amaze me. You have to be ready at all times. I was fully aware of what I was getting myself into coming here, obviously not ideal but we're going to do what we can," said Anderson.
Meanwhile Josh Allen explained that he was going to take this time to step back and learn from the veteran.
"It is what it is. I can take a step back and see from a different lens and see how he controls the huddle, see how he operates," said Allen. "I'm looking at it as a blessing in disguise to see how he operates based on how long he's been in the league and trying to pick things from him."
LeSean McCoy also had some thoughts of his own on this quick change.
"Just next man up mentality. He's a veteran. I'm sure he's used to this stepping in, expected to play.," said McCoy. "We just have to help him out in skill positions, run the ball well, good special teams, he's new here, just got to help him out."
This will be the first time Anderson started a football game in the NFL since December of 2016 when Carolina played Seattle.
