ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — They are some of the longest-tenured owners in football... Robert Kraft with the Patriots... Jerry Jones with the Cowboys.... and, Joe Blakely? What team does he own?

"My team, with my son Ben, is the Flaming Pigskins," says Blakely.

True, Joe doesn't own an NFL team, but his fantasy football league is entering its 30th season.  As commissioner of his league, Joe has a much higher favorability ranking than a certain other high profile commissioner.

"It's definitely a snake draft,” says Blakely, “I've never had to wield my power as commissioner to make their draft picks, every once in a while there will be encouragement from other franchises to make that pick."

This league takes things very seriously, Joe even wrote his master’s thesis at RIT about the computerized aspects of his fantasy football league... that was 2 decades ago!

"There are no more weak owners anymore, everyone's educated, there's so much material out there," adds Blakely.

But it's not just the data and the magazines that have the same group coming together, decade after decade.  Fantasy football means family and friends. Joe has shared his team with his son Ben since 1995.

"It's great to see these buddies,” says Blakely. “We really enjoy these people's company, my dad is paired with his oldest grandchild, they're called the Generation Gappers"

Generations brought together year after year by the sport that they love. Joe told us that the draft is always the Thursday before Labor Day Weekend and that it's so popular that one year a longtime member called in for the draft from the rehearsal dinner at his son's wedding.
