ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monday night proved a busy one for Section V scholar-athletes, and News10NBC made its way to four different games in the area.

First, Gates-Chili and Canandaigua met in a hockey game at the Genesee Valley Sports Complex. The Canandaigua Braves took an early 1-0 lead, but Gates-Chili's Trevor Schmidt was able to tie it up with about a minute and a half to go in the first period. The Braves would again take the lead in the second, though, on a backhand by Carter McWilliams. Canandaigua would end up winning 5-3.

Elsewhere, Aquinas faced Edison Tech in boys basketball. It would prove to be all Edison, who would end up winning by 20 for the 72-52 victory.

At Pittsford Sutherland, the Knights hosted Churchville-Chili in boys basketball. Although Churchville would strike first, Sutherland soon tied it up. Eventually, Sutherland would come out with their fifth straight win, 66-50.

Finally, Bishop Kearney faced Our Lady of Mercy in girls basketball. Although Mercy had home-field advantage, it would be Kearney that would prove dominant, taking home the 60-37 win.
