News10NBC Scholar-Athlete of the Week: Ben Conrow

March 19, 2019 09:23 PM

WEBSTER , N.Y. (WHEC) -- The ability to hit a baseball is often considered the most difficult thing to do in sports. The ability to make the high honor roll every year of high school is pretty difficult too.

The ability to do both at the same time earned one Webster senior a spot as our News10NBC Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

There's a sense of precision that is very fitting to everything Ben Conrow does.

"I think it's good to set a good example for other players and that's what I need to do on and off the field," says Ben.

The Webster Schroeder senior puts the work in all day, every day.  But that's only natural because constantly working to get better in baseball is the only way to actually get better.

"It's really a sport where you have to have patience and know what you're doing. We work on pretty much the same thing every day and the repetition helps you become a better player and it's nice to see your teammates develop also," adds Conrow.

Ben is far more than just a star on the diamond. He's also a member of the National Honor Society and will graduate this spring having taken eight AP courses.

"Everything I do, I want to do the best I can. It wasn't always necessary for me to get the top grades. It was important for me to know that I'm doing the best at everything that I can."

Great mindset and congratulations Ben Conrow, the News10NBC Scholar-Athlete of the Week!
