HOLLEY, N.Y. (WHEC) -- Role models drove Madison Marsh into the person she is today, and now, she's one herself.
"They're the best of the best and I wanted to be like them someday."
That was what Madison Marsh thought about high school kids who were members of the National Honor Society back when she was in 7th grade.
Now a senior at Holley High School, Madison is a member of the National Honor Society.
"I strived to make sure that I, as a person, represented all characteristics of the National Honor Society and being nominated meant a lot to me," says Madison.
Madison frequently finds herself volunteering in the community.
She helps at the elementary school in addition to putting together food boxes at the Holley community center.
Oh by the way, she has a 99 grade point average.
"It's a big thing in my household to maintain good grades; they expect me to put my best effort forward."
And that's tough to do when you're a three-sport athlete.
Madison is a member of the Holley cross country, basketball and softball team.
She says playing all three sports keeps her well-rounded as an athlete.
"I feel cross country helps me stay in good shape, basketball works on a good team aspect and softball I pitch, so it works on mental perseverance," adds Marsh.
She is driving to the hoop like she's driving towards success!
Congratulations Madison Marsh, the News10NBC Scholar Athlete of the Week.
