For the first time this season an MVP took the field in downtown Rochester.
Dustin Pedroia was the American League MVP in 2008 and today he continued his climb back to the major leagues after knee surgery.
Just seven months ago Pedroia went under the knife but he hopes to re-join the Red Sox by the end of the month.
In the meantime, for at least this weekend, Dustin Pedroia is hanging out in Rochester against the Red Wings.
Pedroia was the DH for Pawtucket Friday night. He went down swinging in the first inning.
Pedroia was zero for two with two walks in the game.
Strikeouts were a theme tonight as Chandler Shepherd sits down Jake Cave early in the game.
When it comes to strikeouts, nobody was more dialed in than Red Wings Starter Stephen Gonsalves.
He ends the third with a swinging strike three. Gonsalves had a season-best of 11 strikeouts. This was his highest total in two years
Bottom of the third when Jake Cave rips a single back up the middle, Zack Granite flies around third base and scores.
The Red Wings win two-zero. We caught up with Dustin before the game and he says he has to be patient during these rehab games.
