ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — There appears to be good news for local hockey fans.

WednesdayRochester Institute of Technology men's hockey coach Wayne Wilson told ESPN Rochester Radio that the Tigers will play this season.

Wilson also said that their first game is next weekend with a home-and-home against Niagara.

Last week the university announced that all winter sports at RIT would not compete after the Division III Liberty League canceled its seasons.

However, the hockey teams at RIT are Division I and are not part of the Liberty League.
