The top ranked, undefeated R.I.T. Tigers hosted Wesleyan in the NCAA men's lacrosse DIII semifinal.

The winner of Sunday's game would punch their ticket to the national title game in Boston, while the loser would see their season come to a close.

R.I.T. made the trip to Gillete Stadium last year after beating Wesleyan in the semis, so the Tigers were aiming for a repeat outcome.

Wesleyan would win this time around by a score of 19 to 18. R.I.T.'s season ends just one game short of the national championship. This is their first and only loss of the year, and the Tigers' final season record is 21-1.

"Sometimes the balls just don't bounce your way. We fought, we fought real hard, we came back and it wasn't enough. Hats off to Wesleyan, they are a great team but yeah it is a tough one," said R.I.T. Senior Mid Jay Vakiener.
