BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Buffalo Sabres are positioning themselves to trade a former MVP.

Sabres forward Taylor Hall was a healthy scratch from the lineup Tuesday. The trade deadline is on Monday.

If he doesn't play he can't be hurt and therefore can be traded if he's healthy.

The rest of the team faced the New Jersey Devils. Incidentally enough, that was Hall's former team.

Buffalo was down by a goal in the second period when Rasmus Dahlin took over, he snapped the puck past former Amerks goalie Scott Wedgewood and the game was tied.

Sabres on the power play in the third, this is a great play by Dahlin. He keeps the puck in the zone at the blue line, gets past another player and then connects with Casey Mittelstadt for the re-direct into the net.

"It's good to get rewarded, it's good to have guys have smiles on their face and guys having fun," Mittelstadt, who scored the winning goal, said. "The last few games have been good so remember the feeling and keep it going."

The Sabres won 5-3, that's consecutive wins for the first time since January.
