KENDALL, N.Y. (WHEC) — Practice makes perfect, and that certainly goes for Brittney Marks.
The Kendall senior has a perfect 4.0 GPA and this year she's trying to bring perfection onto the basketball court. To do that, she and her team need to practice.
"Just watching practice we've gotten a lot better at shooting and ball handling and our defense has always been good," Brittney said.
Brittney is a 3-sport athlete; when she's not playing basketball she's a member of Kendall's volleyball and softball teams. A broken ankle during the softball season led to a realization that she wants to study physical therapy in college.
"I've always known i wanted to stay in sports," Brittney said, "there's many different environments, it's not like every day is the same, it's always different, you're always going to have a different person helping someone else."
Outside of sports Brittney is on the student council and a member of the National Honor Society.
"I was really excited, my mom was really excited, it was a really big achievement because it shows that you're in the top of your class," Brittney said.
And she certainly is, congratulations Brittney Marks, the News10NBC Scholar-Athlete of the Week!
