State championship skiing comes to Bristol Mountain

BRISTOL, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Nordic and Alpine Skiing State Championships began at Bristol Mountain on Monday, and some local athletes had success. 

In the boys individual 10K, Rylan Hodgson of Pittsford Sutherland took him the state title, while Honeoye Falls-Lima's Teddy Warfle and Ian McGuire finished 5th and 6th, respectively.


In the girls individual 7.5K event, Brighton's Grace Mattern came out on top, while her teammate Cate Anzellotti came in 4th.

In boys slalom, McQuaid's Sawer Duserick was the top Section V athlete, coming in 6th. He was followed in 7th and 8th by Canandaigua's Spin Blazak and Pittsford's Owen August.

Pittsford's Shannon Hughes was the top Section V finisher in girls slalom, with her teammates Eleanor Stanton and Sophie Browne also placing in the top ten.
