WEBSTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Tonight begins week five of the regular season and with only seven games on the schedule, we're entering "must-win" territory for a number of teams. This includes the two teams from the Touchdown 10 Game of the Week: the Fairport Red Raiders and the Webster Schroeder Warriors.
Both teams started off the season 2-0, but they each have a different tale after that.
Fairport has dropped its last two games and is looking to keep its season from spiraling.
Meanwhile, Schroeder has found a way to bounce back.
"We're happy with where we are," said Webster Schroeder head coach Michael Stumpf. "We prefer to be 4-0 obviously, but for whatever reason it didn't work out that way. So we gotta just keep battling every week and try to improve our record week by week."
Fairport is also looking to improve their record, but in order to do that, they'll need to get on the board.
"Our goal this week is just to improve our offensive efficiency and try to move the ball, move the chains, so we can put up some more points," said Fairport head coach Marc Vitticore.
For Schroeder, the key is discipline.
"Our goals are to play hard and we want to limit our mistakes," said Stumpf. "We've been making a few mistakes the last couple weeks, which kind of bit us two weeks ago."
Regardless of how they get there, each team is fighting for the same outcome, to be on the right side of the scoreboard when the clock expires.
"That's the goal, trying to win," said Schroeder's Tyron Harrell. "We're trying to blow them out more than just win. We're trying to make a statement."
