It all starts Friday, as high school sports in it's entirety returns, with Section 5 teams beginning their quest for a championship. Among the teams beginning play is Webster Schroeder, which will have a new head coach in Mike Stumpf.

It's his first time head coaching any program at all, so we had to ask how the transition had been for him.

Mike Stumpf, Schroeder head coach: "I've been coaching here for 15 years, so coaching is coaching."

Breland Moore, News10NBC Sports: "[There's been] a lot of turnover in this program, 20 starters gone to graduation. What has that transition been like and how are you filling the gaps in the roster?"

Stumpf: "That's really tough, our starting 11 on defense is gone, and those kids played really hard. They were undersized, but they played tough and that's been a big void, the toughness and leadership from those 11 guys, the kids have done whatever we ask them to do, and that's work hard. We base our program on hard work."

Moore: "Kickoff is around the corner of your first ever game as a head coach- how do you feel?"

Stumpf: "It's exciting, football is exciting, you only get so many opportunities to play and it's game time. We've been waiting all year for this, it's kind of crazy that it got here this quickly and we're ready to rock and roll."

Webster Schroeder was set to begin the season against Canandaigua at 7 p.m.
