ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Local Vietnam Veterans are being recognized for their service to our country.
Congressman Joe Morelle presented 10 veterans with the Vietnam War commemoration lapel pin. The pins are awarded to vets who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces from November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975.
The recognition comes ahead of Veterans Day, which is November 11. Here are the names of the veterans who were honored:
- Emil Anderson, US Marines
- Stuart Blume, US Navy
- David Cochran, US Navy
- John Connelly, US Airforce
- Richard Gatto, US Navy
- Gary Ginsburg, US Army
- Daniel Gottler, US Army
- Michael O’Connell, US Navy
- Saulbert Rasnick, US Air Force
- Rene VanMulem, US Army
“All of this is just a good morale builder,” said John Connelly, a U.S. Airforce veteran. “We need to have more of that to keep other veterans that we have encouraged and continue to pay the respect that they’re due.”
