Allen places blame on self, Bills lose to Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (WHEC) – The Buffalo Bills fell to 6-2 on the season after a 20-17 loss at the hands of the New York Jets. Josh Allen shouldered the blame.

It wasn’t the offensive showing Bills Mafia is used to. Instead, a Jets defense was able to slow down Allen, Stefon Diggs, and the rest of the Buffalo offense. The Bills only mustered up 317 yards on offense. Allen was picked twice.

“It’s tough to win in this league when you’re playing a good team and your quarterback plays like s—. I made some bad decisions tonight. Really cost our team,” said Allen.

Despite only giving up 20 points, the Bills defense also had its problems. Not all of their drives ended in points, but the Jets put together four separate drives of at least four minutes. Long drives kept a Bills defense without a few everyday starters on the field even more.

The teams traded leads, with the Jets taking a 20-17 advantage with only 1:43 to play. Buffalo was without timeouts, but it didn’t matter. The Bills couldn’t even get a first down, and New York was able to run out the clock.

With the loss, Buffalo’s lead in the AFC East is now down to only half a game over the Jets and Miami Dolphins. The Bills are still in first place in the AFC.
