RPD surrounds house on Weaver Street that was hit by gunfire

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Dozens of Rochester Police officers surrounded a house on Weaver Street on the city’s northeast side that was hit by gunfire overnight, working to remove the people inside.

RPD says no one was hit and the gunfire came from outside the house. News10NBC’s photojournalist saw officers with long guns drawn and drones at one point.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire on Weaver Street around 10:30 p.m. on Monday and contained the area. News10NBC saw the officers surround the house around midnight.

RPD says there is no threat to public safety at this time. Anyone with information should call 911.
