ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Fallen Rochester Police Officer, Daryl Pierson, was honored on Sunday during the “Third Annual Daryl Pierson Back the Blue Memorial Ride.”

Almost eight years ago, Pierson, was shot and killed while chasing a suspect on foot. The event was organized by the local organization Patriots 4 First Responders. Bikers and truckers started in downtown Rochester, and rode to the “Piano Works Mall” in East Rochester.

“They put their lives on the line to protect ourselves. Yes, there are a few bad ones, but that doesn’t distinguish the good hard work that they all do. Whether it be from the State Police, the federal government of the FBI, the New York State Police, the Monroe County Sheriff, the local LEO, they all just want to go home at the end of the night, back to their families.,” said Eugene Schlesing, Founder and CEO of Patriots 4 First Responders.

Organizers say it’s important now, more than ever, to support first responders in our community.
