Bishop Kearney celebrates 60th anniversary

ROCHESTER, N.Y. After 60 years in action at Bishop Kearney, students and staff celebrated its diamond anniversary in style Saturday night with a King of Diamonds Gala.

The 1960s Las Vegas-themed event helped to raise money for the school, which teaches grades 6-12.

“BK’s a family,” said Bishop Kearney student Samuel Furioso. “We get to see some of the teachers that have retired come to the gala and we get to have conversations with them and stuff. And Kearney is a special place. Everyone knows each other in the halls so you get to come day to day and say hi to everyone in the halls and it’s so welcoming. It’s a great place to be.”

Bishop Kearney students got to take an active role in the gala helping out as servers and valets.
