ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Black Button Distilling has announced they will be closing on July 12.

In a letter sent out from the President and CEO of the company Jason Barrett, it says the buildout of their new facility occurred during a “downturn in the alcohol market.” It also says they have gotten to a point where they “cannot ethically go on operating.”

The letter says they have told staff that in the coming weeks, they will have to be let go, saying it is the “greatest shame of all.” In the letter, it says

On Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University Avenue tasting room, they will be hosting their last call for alcohol. They also say special discounts will be available.
