CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — The Ontario County Public Health will hold a clinic on Wednesday to distribute the new boosters that are specific to the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

The clinic in Canandaigua will give the new Moderna booster for people 18+ and the Pfizer booster for people 12+. The drive-thru clinic runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 2930 County Road 48 in Canandaigua.

Before the clinic, you can register through the New York State Department of Health. Here’s the link for the Moderna booster and here’s the link for the Pfizer booster.

The rollout of boosters targeting the Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5 comes after their approval from the Centers for Disease Control on September 1 and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on August 31. Medical experts hope the new boosters will prevent a fall and winter surge.
