ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Crews battled a fire at the Atlantic Avenue side of Gleason Works that broke out on Thursday.

Rochester firefighters responded just before 2 a.m. after employees working there reported the fire. The fire was difficult to put out because of the gas furnaces and factory machinery inside.

Crews found that the flames were coming from the building’s ducts and spread to the roof. Workers did not have to evacuate. The cause is under investigation.
