ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A vacant home on North Street is in ruins after catching fire. The Rochester Fire Department responded to the call on Thursday just after midnight.

Firefighters say a broken hydrant and the house being boarded up made it challenging to fight the flames. It took about 40 minutes for crews to get the fire under control.

No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
