Man arrested for double shooting in Batavia

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police have arrested the man who shot two people in Batavia Friday.

Police responded to Elm Street and East Main Street late Friday afternoon and found two victims with gunshot wounds.

Police say the suspect also threatened a passenger in his car that was trying to escape after the shooting.

One victim was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, while the other was treated on the scene. Both are expected to recover.

Jeremy Ives, 47, was arrested on Friday and is facing seven charges: two counts of attempted assault in the first degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, kidnapping in the second degree, criminal use of a firearm in the first and second degree, and menacing in the second degree
