East High School superintendent receives award for role in combating gun violence

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — East High School superintendent Shaun Nelms was presented with a very special honor on Monday from the FBI.

He received the 2022 Director’s Community Leadership Award for his work as superintendent and the work he’s done alongside the University of Rochester to combat violence. He received the award in a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. outside of East High.
