ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies say Nicholas Stutes, 25 of Retsof, is the name of the motorcyclist who died in a crash on Wednesday night.

Stutes was killed when his motorcycle crashed into an SUV on State Route 63 in the Town of Covington. Deputies say Stutes was speeding and passing a long line of cars. As he tried to pass a Chevy Equinox as it tried to make a left-hand turn onto Court Road, he struck the back of the SUV, which crashed into a utility pole.

No one in the SUV was injured. Stutes was ejected from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
