ROCHESTER, N.Y. Outside of some light snow showers and flurries mainly this morning our weather will be quiet today.

On the other hand lake effect from Lake Erie is expected to become more organized today and will begin to accumulate around Buffalo and stretch into portions of our viewing area of Genesee and Wyoming Counties.

There will likely be a sharp cutoff to this band, but where the snow does fall is expected to be significant, 6-12″ plus. If you are heading out to the Bills game at Orchard Park, dress accordingly for the snow along with temperatures in the 20s and wind chills in the teens.

Sunday through Wednesday appears to be rather quiet outside of a few snow showers or flurries, even some breaks of sun at times. Temperatures will remain slightly below average. We are tracking the potential of a winter storm for late next week.

The exact track will determine how much snow we may see, but our chances of a white Christmas seem to be more likely. It is expected that temperatures will remain below average heading into Christmas weekend thanks to cold arctic air dropping down across the northeast. Highs will only be in the 20s during that time period.
