ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The entire kitchen sink is thrown at us for Wednesday with wind, rain, and even flakes by the end of the day.

This is all thanks to a strong cold front that will swing through early on Wednesday afternoon. We will see rain overtake our region in the morning and that rain could be heavy at times. This could limit visibility on area roadways, and cause pooling and ponding.

We will also see our winds pick up, but the strongest of the winds are expected for Wednesday afternoon. In the early afternoon, we will see rain end from west to east while remaining gusty as our cold front passes through.

Also, temperatures in the afternoon will reach the 50 degree mark before crashing down with cold air on the backside of this front. We will turn drier as the afternoon goes by, but we will see our temperatures crash into the 30s by this evening with the opportunity for a few lake flakes to fly as well.

Winds will remain gusty which means that it will feel much colder out there with wind chills dropping into the 20s late today. Winds will continue to be gusty today with gusts near of over 45mph through Wednesday night and into Thursday morning before dying out late Thursday. With that, there will be the chance for a few isolated power outages, but widespread outages are not expected.
